Yale Undergraduate Aerospace Association is proud to partner with the Yale School of Management Business and Space Group and the Yale School of Management Technology Club to host Bill Claybaugh, SOM’83, Senior Director for Human Space Systems at Orbital Sciences Corporation.
Please join us on Monday, April 8th at 4:30 pm at the Steinbach Lounge, 52 Hillhouse Ave.
Some say the world’s first trillionaires will be created through accessing the resources of space in the future. However, any company in the business of space must be prepared for extreme complexity: the up-front costs are tremendous, the returns uncertain. Orbital Science Corporation is one of the first private space start-ups, founded by three Harvard Business School grads in 1982. Starting in the business of designing and launching satellites, the company is entering an exciting new era of space flight, supplying commercial cargo resupply services for the International Space Station. Bill Claybaugh, a School of Management alum who worked with NASA and invested venture capital in the industry before joining Orbital, will speak about the future opportunities and costs of private access to space. You can read more about Claybaugh’s journey on the SOM website. Coffee and dessert will be served.
