Interested in rocketry? Considering a future in the air force? Want to know what it takes to launch an object into space?
The CEID and Yale Undergraduate Aerospace Association are hosting a discussion with Major Bai Lan Zhu of the U.S. Air Force on Friday, Nov. 9 at 4:00 PM.
Zhu will be talking to students about aerospace launch logistics with a special emphasis on rocketry.
Zhu previously worked at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, an important launch site for U.S. space exploration. In her four years there she worked as a mission assurance and systems engineer for the Delta IV and Atlas V rockets. For her technical risk assessment in the Delta IV project she was named the 2008 Space Coast Distinguished New Engineer of the Year.
Currently Zhu works as an Air Force ROTC recruiting officer at Yale.
All students and faculty are welcome to attend the event, which will be followed by a short Q&A session.
